THE JUICE PLAYLIST: JULY

13 JULY 2011

The staff behind Singapore's forefront music/club lifestyle magazine, JUICE, get down and share what's rocking their office boat this month, and every month.

DJ Fresh – “Louder (Dillon Francis Remix)”

What’s the buzz: Mad Decent’s Dillon Francis roomed with d’n’b prince DJ Fresh during his UK stay and this is what happens when two amazing producers don’t use protection.

Sounds like: Sub the dub with Dutch-y electro and we have ourselves a banger.

Prediction: Unrecognisable from the original, but that’s what a remix supposed to do innit? Not for the purists but casuals will have fun with this.

Danny Daze feat. Lousahhh! – “Your Everything”

What’s the buzz: The highly anticipated new cut from tech-house savant Danny Daze, gaining notice thanks to shameless Seth Troxler pimping.

Sounds like: An undyingly massive bassline and ominously shady groove.

Prediction: Destined to be a summer fest fave.

Sia – “Breathe Me (Butch Clancy Remix)”

What’s the buzz: Detroit isn’t just a techno town baby. Grime-smith Butch Clancy hails from Motor City and he’s taken a liking to masterfully applying dubstep onto beloved indie tunes.

Sounds like: Brilliance. Sia’s spacious familiarity is made to be dipped in wobble condiment.

Prediction: Might be lost amidst the daily remix clutter, but it shouldn’t be. This feels like falling for a long lost lover all over again.

Maya Jane Coles – “Focus Now”

What’s the buzz: As if you haven’t heard by now. Maya Jane Coles is apparently the second coming of house music, new queen of the underground and this track can cure cancer.

Sounds like: A deep house Four Tet.

Prediction: Believe the hype, this girl is fo’ real.

Chromeo – “When The Night Falls (Breakbot Remix)”

What’s the buzz: Chromeo's embarking on their biggest tour to date and they couldn’t have picked a better dude than Breakbot to drum up some hype for them.

Sounds like: The sonic definition of funky cool.

Prediction: Guaranteed to put an instant smile on your face.
